Registered Nurse – Float

Job Description

Minneapolis Radiation Oncology is hiring for a .5+ FTE Float Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse to train and cover various Radiation Therapy Centers in the Twin Cities Metro Area. This position is guaranteed at least .5 hours which includes eligibility for all benefits, insurance, etc. The ability to work more hours is available if desired and ability to flex up to cover full weeks potentially is needed. All shifts are daytime hours, Monday through Friday. No nights or weekends! Potential locations for training and floating include our Radiation Therapy Clinics within Fairview Ridges in Burnsville, Fairview Southdale in Edina, St. Francis in Shakopee and others based on location of candidates.

Job Responsibilities

• Patient and family education and support for cancer patients receiving radiation treatment
• Provide direct patient care and assist Physician with a variety of tasks
• Consult with new patients and meet with patients weekly who are undergoing radiation treatment to review any possible side effects
• Offer after-care assistance and help coordinate care with other departments
• Assist front desk staff with pulling prior medical records, chart prep and scheduling

Desired Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Previous experience in radiation therapy, oncology, med surg or patient education preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to perform a variety of duties to assist in a small clinic team environment.
• Flexibility to cover different locations and work with other Nurses and Physicians is needed.
